Trump Threatens to Leak On His Enemies as Mueller Turns Up Heat

mueller-trumpDonald Trump just threatened to release classified information on his opponents – largely Democrats –  but also outspoken civil servants like James Comey, who is about to go through a phony inquiry. The intent of the GOP’s Comey investigation is to scare Democrats from acting against Trump and the GOP. It’s sole message is “you come after Trump he will come after you”. This is one of the last desperate cards individual one can play in his attempt to obfuscate truth and obstruct justice.  But do not underestimate it’s value. Targeting Congress members has historically been a very effective of getting one’s own way. But why is this? Consider the following:

To our collective shame, the American citizenry has allowed politicians to enjoy the fruits of bribes and graft with little recourse. We’ve not been very politically active as a group. We elect politicians but then let them do their thing. We just hope they live up to their promises, but they rarely do. Lying to the public is not even illegal and the criminal type of politician knows that. We give them uncheck-able legal power and they run with it for self-aggrandizement. Therein lies the main problem with our current democracy.

There’s a heck of a lot of old dirt hiding in the skeletons of both GOP and DEM Congressmen these days. That dirt is the real swamp. And it exists on both sides of the aisle. That dirt, which we permit to exist, consistently stops Americans from enjoying a robust democratic government that really could work for them. That dirt is the real enemy and we have to clean it up. Maybe we know this at last. Maybe. We will see.

Why do you think Donald Trump said “I like Nancy Pelosi”? Yes, Pelosi is red meat for his base which includes plenty of misogynists who believe women belong in the kitchen, etc. But is it possible Trump already has some palpable dirt on Pelosi? She has been in politics for a long time. That brings experience, but it also means she has a history of business deals. I don’t know the details on how Pelosi got to be worth 29 million in real estate. And that’s not so much in California. I assume she is an honest player having not heard to the contrary. However I also know how Trump thinks. He figures he can paint her black because she has money. All the people in his circle who have money have dirt – he practically insists on it. So when Trump says he likes Nancy Pelosi, he’s saying he likes her as an opponent or enemy – not as a fellow politician to engage in an effort to help Americans live better lives. You can count on that.

For too long, a dis-engaged American electorate has permitted the criminal type to not only infiltrate its politics but steep in it with little consequence. Many of these self-serving politicians exist in both parties. Yes, it feels like the GOP has more of them but that may be because they have the power now. The only congressional group that might not yet have skeletons in their closets is the young freshman class that contains folks like Alex Cortez. So I am specially reaching out to them because it may come down to them to clean up the dirt and make self-serving politicians a thing of the past.

What this all means becomes more apparent when you consider what happened to the idealistic Barack Obama after he entered the presidency. Barack made an effort to create “change we can believe in”. But,  beyond healthcare it seemed to many that he did not try that hard. Many Americans felt ignored. And that gave the GOP palpable traction to their success in 2016. It seemed like Obama sold out, but we couldn’t quite see it. With Trump – we know 100% he is selling out. We do see and hear about it every day. And it’s finally bugging Americans on both sides of the aisle. That’s what the Blue Wave was all about. And that may turn out to be a good thing.

When the Democrats take power it will come down to why politicians sell out and why we permit it? Trump has already learned that there are skeletons in closets of his allies and enemies. He is collecting the dirt and he will play that game. It has begun!

So all this means when the DEMS come to power with Pelosi in charge, we the people will have to  keep an eye open for signs they start going soft on Trump. I hope that is not the case unless it’s to have Trump step down and I have written about that. ( see below)

But one thing for sure. Obama’s idealism hit the swamp/wall and he backed down. That wall still exists and the new House members will learn about it soon. Do they buckle? Do they start seeing paths to self dealing and join the swamp? Do they start complicated motions that ultimately go nowhere? We will know soon.

And what is that swamp/wall anyway? It is the same military-industrial complex that Eisenhower made note of when he passed the baton on to JFK. It’s the Kochs, the Mercers, the Zuckerbergs, plenty of congress members, Boeing, GE, Saudi Arabia’s MBS. Putin, etc.  That’s a heck of an obstinate wall. And when it’s structure is challenged that wall fires back with back room deals and bullets.

That’s why I sort of wanted the small band of 25 idealistic freshmen who opposed Pelosi to have their way. It’s not going to happen. I’m apprehensively okay with it. The freshman class is among the few in Congress that are not yet suborned by that wall. And yes, we recognize there are plenty of good, decent Congresspeople. But time spent in Congress turns many good people into cynical jaded operatives of the establishment.

If we are going to make change that really restores America’s position of authority as a beacon of hope for the world to behold, we’re going to have to go “all the way”. That Frank Sinatra song comes to mind. When somebody loves you, it’s no good unless they love you all the way. ( One of my favorites.) We need to love our American democracy all the way this time folks.

Citizens. If there is one good thing Trump has done for America it may be that his inexperience in government has resulted in exposing political corruption and dirt. And  it is now abhorrent to us all. But it’s only going to be a blessing of we go all the way and root out corruption at all levels of government – city, state and national. We’re going to have to vet our public servants to the core and have them reveal all their financial dealings if they want to work for us. We need to think of political appointments more like we think of doctors with licenses to uphold.  We’re going to have to instantly retire any public servant who does not want to put their books on the record. That’s how graft starts.

Of course, there would be resistance to this kind of scrutiny from both sides of the aisle precisely because there are crooks in both parties. They have votes and they stick will together to protect their personal interests. So if we don’t go all the way, getting rid of Trump won’t mean that much. We’ll just get a new smoother Trump in time.

Anand Giridharadas, bright young author of “Winners Takes All”, said that maybe it would be a good idea to have a personal wealth ceiling for those seeking office. it’s idealistic, but that won’t happen. There are good people who have money too. So it’s the vetting that has to be done. Laws have to set up that disqualify people to serve immediately if they are found to be corrupt by standards we will have to create. We’re going to have to fix what’s broken in the US government system.

Now that Cohen is revealing the truth, Trump has admitted he was indeed trying to build a Tower in Putin’s Russia while a candidate. I guess he figured he would not win and he could come back to the Moscow Tower after the election. When he won, he scrapped the tower project for the time being. But once he is not POTUS again in two years ( we presume – or less ) he can and will go back to that or other Russian projects. And so his not-so-far-into-the-future hope INFORMS his decisions today as president. And that we cannot not abide! We can all agree that a US president cannot have present, past, or soon-to-be financial interests in countries that are enemies of the USA and democracy.

Last thing. We’ve learning from Trump that the current rules that might constrain a rogue president are not sufficient to protect our democracy and nation.  Just why we permit the office of president to pardon people who are convicted of crimes is suspicious. We know it’s in the constitution. But it’s such a bad idea for modern times. Pardon power and other absolute powers given to the POTUS since 1776 have to be re-examined and updated to reflect 21st century technology. Maybe we should allow a president to suggest a review for pardoning. But giving one man all the power in a democracy of 300 million is not going to work out for us. They will pardon their criminal friends and how is that good for us?

The Constitution was written when the population of the entire country was 2.5 million. There’s that many people in Brooklyn today.

We’ve got to fix our democracy now and go all the way.

How Citizens Can Help Protect Mueller in a Cyber Age

In August 2018, a poll of registered voters published by Fox News showed approval of special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation of Russian intervention in the 2016 U.S. presidential election was almost 60%, up 12 points from July. Those numbers are most certainly much higher today – after the firing of Jeff Sessions. The vast majority of Americans now want to protect the Mueller investigation.

In numbers there is strength. We must document our numbers. It’s so easy today, in this age of social media, to count our numbers. So the first part of this post is a simple request to Americans to do the following if they agree that Mueller should be protected.

Pass this on to your like-minded friends and associates thru email, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, or your favorite social media platform.

………………………… copy/paste

The vast majority of Americans want to protect the Mueller investigation. If you agree, pass this hashtag & meme forward to your friends & associates thru email, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, or your favorite social media platform. Let our voices be counted.

……………………………. end/paste

This is how we fight back in a cyber war  – with unity and words. Fortunately, social media programs will measure the strength of our determination for free. Politicians cannot ignore numbers this large. That’s the big idea.

No donations can be requested or accepted. This does not take money! We want money out of politics. Just pass it on. Thank you. The future of American democracy is on trial and you can do your share today. Just pass the meme on and/or post it.

America Needs a National Leader to Get Vocal Before the Midterms

In 2016, the statesman lost to the salesman. And that salesman now has the full power of the US government behind him and is already campaigning for 2018 midterms!

But who is the resistance’s man in this fight to save democracy? Who holds the reins for the opposition party? Who is its father figure?

The truth is, right now there is no one!

And that’s a huge problem for democracy’s survival …

America needs a national leader to get vocal and do rallies before the midterms because the midterms are going to be a referendum on whom should be president*.

Like it or not, pro- or anti-Trump is the essence of the midterms. It should be pro-Trump vs pro-X-person, because when selling, anti-unknown is disadvantaged to pro-Trump! That’s the ahha moment that people in selling – like Donald Trump – know cold.

The opposition party needs a concrete platform and a presidential figurehead, not a dozen competing hopefuls. A dozen hopefuls cannot credibly have identical messages. So what does that say? It says: we really don’t know what we want yet.  It screams, “we are undecided”. And that will be a severely disadvantaged strategy in November, especially with a decent economy.

The leader of the resistance party can’t be Obama or Hillary.  Those days are over. Nor should it be Nancy Pelosi or Chuck Shumer. They just don’t track well with Trump’s base, and we are going to have to sway that base a bit. And myself, I think it shouldn’t be a female or person of color this cycle. I love Booker’s youth, message and attitude most of all, but not this cycle. Too much of Trump’s support is rooted in blacklash and misogyny. Let’s be realistic this cycle – not purely idealistic.

Whomever emerges as our figurehead, we do have the right messages for that leader to promote. We just don’t have that salesman, do we? And that’s also because the opposition party or the resistance does not yet have its leader. And with the midterms coming up, that’s going to work to Trump’s benefit.

As of now, logic dictates our ideal resistance leader can only be Joe Biden or Bernie Sanders. They can both come off as street fighters. That’s important too. I favor Joe Biden because I am sure he can reach Trump’s base. But Joe Biden should immediately form an alignment with Bernie Sanders and vice-versa – and that union should be clear to us all. Biden should say that he and Sanders will be working together for our platform.

  • universal healthcare
  • infrastructure investment
  • environmental protections to keep us safe
  • affordable education for our kids
  • border security that makes sense
  • a tax plan that favor the working and middle classes, not the billionaires
  • a defense that includes protections from cyber threats
  •  protecting the vote from Gerrymandering and discrimination and a verifiable voting system ( blockchain secured voting software exists already – ask me)
  • Mueller protections and the rule of law to apply to all citizens and representatives

Is that enough? Add one more and make it a biblical ten focus points on a concrete campaign platform.

I hear on Fox News this meme lately: Do you know what Democrats stand for? When they are not peddling fear and hate, they ask that question because they know we are not one.

Of course, we can inwardly know that our midterm national voice leader can change after the 2018 election. We just can’t lose the midterms. So we must prepare to the max. It’s not a max effort without a national leader, a team and defined platform.

For now at least, there should be no struggle within our party or movement as to whom our leader is.  We immediately need a competent, experienced iconic figurehead and more importantly a lead strategist for the midterm elections of 2018, probably the most important election in our 240 year history.  Trump is, if nothing else, a strategist. We can’t afford any disadvantages. To be undecided is advantage Trump.

I need a much bigger megaphone. Please help me get this message to Joe Biden, Bernie Sanders, and all our congressmen and the hopeful Democratic and Independent 2020 presidential candidates. We need someone to get on the road and counter Trump’s rallies in red areas. Trump sells hate and fear. Trump’s base needs to hear what a message of love, hope and caring sounds like. Joe Biden will do it best for Trump’s base. He’s also male, white and emotes empathy and love. Joe won’t miss the mark – if he makes the effort. Let’s convince him to do that. That is why I have written this.

Trump was not so hard to beat in 2016. Even with help from Russia and a split in the Democratic party, he still lost the popular vote. Hillary was a decent statesman, but a terribly tone-deaf salesperson. We can’t be tone deaf this cycleShe should have listened to the majority of Americans and made Bernie vice-president and end party infighting. Her VP choice was tone-deaf too. Clinton/Sanders was an unbeatable ticket.

We must learn from our mistakes. So now the Democratic party immediately needs its best hope national statesman to emerge asap and get into the midterm fight. The resistance needs a leader before the midterms – not after when it could be too late.

If you agree, use your connections and social media to get this started. Petition the Democratic hopefuls you know best. Petition Joe Biden and Bernie Sanders. They seem best suited for this job. They should organize a war room and announce it, the way Trump does. If you disagree and like this current dozen hopefuls strategy, get me a direct line to you, dear staffer. I will try to convince you of its importance. josepharonesty@gmail.com

I went to Wharton School and was in a class with Trump in 1967. I know what he is doing. It’s just selling. Like selling soap. There is no heart behind it. And that is its flaw. You should not be able to sell politics the way you sell soap. But if no one runs counter to the salesman – he just may find a way to win again.

Americans: Democracy is being challenged. 11/6 is D-Day.

Be there! VOTE THEM OUT.

Who is “them”? Anyone who would see democracy compromised for their own interests: the self-dealing politicians of the US Congress. We know who they are now: any politician who stands with Trump.

They all must go. We can do this. We can vote with our hearts and minds.

11/6 is D-Day. But this time the “D” stands for Democracy.

Do you know what the D stood for in the original 6/6 D-Day?

http://www.latimes.com/nation/nationnow/la-na-why-its-called-d-day-story.html

PS. I also think the midterms will be a referendum as to whether America will allow racism to be borderline legal (again) via first amendment rights.

How to Stop a Deplorable President

Let’s face it. By any standard, we have a truly deplorable person in the highest office in the land. He is all of the above on every level. Trump is also a criminal money launderer, tax evader, draft-dodger, misogynist, rapist, narcissist, and a compulsive liar. The SCOTUS pick is lining up to be the straw that can break a 250 year-old democracy’s back here in the USA. If Trump gets his pick, they can allow him to pardon himself, fix the 2018 elections the way Putin does in Russia, and then its all over.

de·plor·a·ble adjective: deserving strong condemnation.“The prisoners were held in deplorable conditions”. Synonyms: disgraceful, shameful, dishonorable, unworthy, inexcusable, unpardonable, unforgivable, lamentable, regrettable, unfortunate, wretched, atrocious, awful, terrible, dreadful, diabolical.

Let’s face it. By any standard, we have a truly deplorable person in the highest office in the land. He is all of the above on every level. Trump is also a criminal money launderer, tax evader, draft-dodger, misogynist, rapist, narcissist, and a compulsive liar.

He agreed to play ball with Putin to win our election and now they are getting ready for the next steps. Remember this. Putin was not born rich like Trump. Putin stole 100% of his 150 billion dollars in Russian assets. And step-by-step he is teaching Trump how to do the same here. Not that Trump did not know how to cheat and steal. He’s done that all his life. But Putin knew how to make the theft permanent, by eliminating justice. That’s what Trump needs.

Trump is trying to legally become the first dictator of the USA. And if he gets away with it, the American democracy as we know it may be ruined for the foreseeable future.

putin-hockeyClick on the image to listen to what Putin said at a USSR hockey game to our CBS reporter. He said this with an undeniable smirk “Trump is acting in accordance with his own government”.

If you read between the lines, the way you always should with politicians, Putin’s statement seems to be about Comey’s firing but the undercurrent is about some sort of struggle Trump is having with his own government. Putin is saying, in effect, that Trump would prefer not to have an adversarial US government to deal with – (the way Putin has it in Russia as an elected dictator), but that he is not breaking any US laws. He is in accordance. So it’s all OK. They are both trying to use our own laws, to make Trump/Putin the czars of planet earth.

And Trump realizes he has no real friends among the clear-headed rulers on the planet. So he cozies up to dictators to learn how they do it. How they get power. How they retain power. That’s what these international summits are all about anyway.

The SCOTUS pick is lining up to be the straw that can break a 250 year-old democracy’s back here in the USA. If Trump gets his pick, they can allow him to pardon himself, fix the 2018 elections the way Putin does in Russia, and then its all over.

There has been talk of Murkowski and Collins flipping and refusing to confirm Trump’s pick for fear of Rowe vs Wade being scuttled. There is talk that Flake, Corker and Paul may have develop a conscious and obstruct the coupe d’etat that Trump needs to skirt justice and avoid paying for the laws he broke to acquire his wealth and presidency.

First things first. NO DEMOCRATIC CANDIDATE SHOULD GET THE BACKING OF THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY in 2018 IF THEY WILL VOTE FOR TRUMP’S SCOTUS. This cannot be an option! We must all stand together – all 49 of us. And we must publicly commit to that ASAP. Once we have that commitment, we can figure out how to get a few decent GOP senators to hold this up.

But without that commitment, we are fighting an uphill battle on too many fronts. It does not bode well – unless we get the full support of 49 democratic senators – and NOW – not later. No waiting to see who he picks. They will all be “sold out” regardless of what they say or don’t say. They have all been schooled not to talk about Rowe v. Wade already. They know women hold the supreme voting power here in the USA this cycle. If women largely unify, nothing can break their solidarity. Not even a Russian bot repeat attack.

I own RussianTrollSites.com and will donate that site to anyone or group who will develop a script that lists all the continuing Russian efforts to undermine free and fair elections here in the USA, like they did in 2016.

After that united commitment, we figure out how to pressure the right GOP senators through the constituents in their states, and get them to do the right thing for the USA.

To Mueller I say this. Strategically, this is like a baseball game in many ways. If Trump gets to pick his SCOTUS it’s like having a top tier relief pitcher on your team in the extra innings. Our momentum will get shut down.

So Mueller: If you are betting that doing a perfect job over the next few years is better than doing a pretty decent job NOW – I would re-think that strategy. Once Trump gets to SCOTUS, all your work can potentially go down the drain. You can be sure that will be Trump’s best hope and he will work to that end tirelessly.

Mueller: It is better to do some scoring now, in the late middle innings. Make Trump look guilty NOW, in front of the USA and his own base. Get it done before he even announces a pick. If Trump can be made to look to the pubic like the criminal he really is – then at least a few senators are not going to want to do down in history as the ones who let a criminal POTUS buy a SCOTUS and effectively end the rule of law and the 250 year-old American democracy.

And a few is all we need if we insist that all Dems stand together or lose their party standing and support. Trump needs to win at any cost to keep his stolen wealth.  It’s also what Putin wants to happen and he will work to make that happen gladly. They are both greed monsters. And there are many others GOP lieutenants afflicted with the same greed disease – and they would love to see America be over if they can make a buck planning in it’s demise.

It’s time to be bold. Release the hounds Robert Mueller. We will do our part with our Dem senators.

There is one more important thing to say.

Did you know we can make it TEN JUSTICES of even ELEVEN,
if we take back both houses? NINE is NOT in the constitution.
It’s up to Congress. Totally.
Everything spins the right way for democracy, if we just take back both houses.
Criminal POTUS Trump will become as malleable as Silly Putty, in a Democratic Congress.
Self-preservation is his only MO.
This news on ten justices came in from Richard Painter to me via email reply. However, Norm Einstein added that it could take also a willing president. Though that sounds unlikely at first thought, the truth is if we pressure him properly for his crimes, I think Trump will do WHATEVER we want, if we gain control of Congress. He has no real love for the GOP – or anyone except himself.

This post below discusses Trump’s hollow promise of a better economy. For those who think they are better off economically with Trump, remember what happened with Bush, our last GOP president.

The Emperor’s New Clothes – The Classic Tale of a King’sVanity Exposed by a Child

As we witness a vain president attempting to pull the wool over our eyes, seeming to want nothing but praise from his subjects, the tale seems strangley apropos today.

It’s June 2, 2018, my 70th birthday. I’ve written this as if I were speaking with David Hogg, Emma Gonzales and all the kids at Stoneman-Douglas:

I am sure you are aware of the Emperor’s New Clothes by Hans Christian Andersen. But did you know that the tale had its roots in oligarchical medieval days and may trace back as far as to Aesop?

As we witness a vain president attempting to pull the wool over our eyes, seeming to want nothing but praise from his subjects, this tale seems strangely apropos today.

The Emperor’s New Clothes

kingA vain emperor, who cares about nothing except being seen as handsome and beautiful, hires weavers who promise they will make him a magical suit of clothes. The weavers are con-men,  and they convince the stupid emperor they are using a fine fabric that is invisible to anyone who is stupid. The weavers only pretend to manufacture the clothes; they mime the actions, but there is no cloth at all being weaved. Thus, no one, not even the emperor nor his ministers can actually see the alleged “clothes”. But when the emperors declares that his new clothes are invisible to anyone that is stupid they all pretend they see the clothes for fear of appearing stupid.  The emperor also does the same of course, and it’s quite comical.

Finally, the weavers report that the suit is finished, they pretend to dress him in the suit, and the emperor marches in a royal before his subjects. The townsfolk go along with the pretense.  Not wanting to appear stupid, they marvel at how beautiful the king’s clothes are.  Suddenly, a child in the crowd, too young to understand the desirability of keeping up the pretense, blurts out that the emperor naked! Only then is the cry is taken up by the adults. The emperor realizes the crowd’s assertion is true, but he continues with the procession in total embarrassment as the crowd mocks him and the weavers escape with their payment.

Andersen’s tale is based on a 1335 story from the Libro de los ejemplos, a medieval Spanish collection of fifty-one cautionary tales with various sources such as Aesop and other classical writers and Persian folktales, by Juan Manuel, Prince of Villena (1282–1348).

This is a tale that had its origins when there were actual kings and subjects – oligarchical times for sure. And so in these neo-oligarchical times there is something to learn from this old tale. Notice that it’s a child that exposes the king. There is a reason for that.

As a child of the hippie generation, I can tell you we had big dreams and saw the hypocrisy in parts ( not all ) of our parent’s generation. That’s what 1968 was all about. Protests against Johnson and the Vietnam War was just part of our quasi-revolutionary mind set.  But after graduating college, and particularly after becoming parents, many of us got sucked up into the same system hooked our parents. There was so much opportunity back then compared to now, it was easy to get sucked into the same system that we were protesting against just a few years earlier. Weird, huh? But true.

This medieval tale informs us that this all has been going on for a very long time. And so children, whilst you are young and before you form the bonds marriages and have kids, you are in life’s special time-zone when you can see the hypocrisy in the systems in our society and are not yet afraid to expose it. And that reminds me that there is at least one big difference between 2018 and 1968.

In 1968, we protested against the hypocrisy of people, but ended up embracing the systems the systems they deployed. Today the young are protesting against the systems and laws as well as the people that hold on to what seems more and more to be a dysfunctional government and culture. I don’t differentiate much between culture and government. To me they are both just aggregates of people with the large power of a mob and a general credo.

Students of Stoneman-Douglas: This summer of 2018 compares to the summer of 1968. It’s super important that you not only continue attacking our broken systems ( which so many of us admire in you all ) but also call BS on the people who profit from and embrace these broken systems. That outcry must include the president, who is the standard-bearer for all these broken systems, including gun laws. We must insist that no man is above the law. We can’t devolve into a society that allows our rulers and their friends to buy their way out of criminal behavior. That’s not what America is all about. I am sure you now that.

Of course, our American vain emperor would love to experience nothing but praise from his subjects. From that protected authoritarian dais, he and his financial allies can continue to work behind the scenes, back-channel and profit from these broken systems at the expense of the general public.

And this is not only about smart gun laws any more. Stupid gun laws are a symptom the larger dysfunction. The refusal of the majority in congress, the GOP, to create laws that our citizens actually want and need will only wane when Trump and the GOP lose big time at the ballot box this November 2018. I want this to be a November to remember for the rest of your lives.

Stay vocal. The powers in control are going to try and fix the election again. This election is even more important to them that the last one. Why? Because if Trump had lost, they had Hillary who more or less embraced that same broken system the way Obama did. But if they lose this time, they could lose it all. Power could return to the people here in the USA. Unions will negotiate better wages and cut down the owner/worker pay ratio.  Real-healthcare, access to education and infrastructure improvement become doable options. What a mess for the industrialists in control of this broken machine, right?

I just purchased RussianTrollSites.com. Let’s crowd source a site that runs a script that finds political troll sites and ads, publishes them, and forwards the list to Facebook, Google and the media. Contact me.

The crowd in the Emperor’s New Clothes only changes its position when a child exposes the obvious truth. That is the teachable part of this old tale. Your parents want to believe in you. This is not new. They will even take this battle cry up with you if you stay loud and determined. And this summer of 2018 we must.

We have a president and a congress that is trying to put themselves above the law, keep their ill-gotten gains, and expand upon the broken system licenses cars but not guns. The system is not broken for them. It’s broken for us! And we all will continue to pay if they stay in power.

Trump, as the system’s figurehead,  will try and sell you that the economy is doing better. I say what?! Are the people doing better? Not really. We have fallen behind all the first world countries is vital stats like life-expectancy and education.  Select economical stats are not the be-all-end-all of a society. The German economy got better under Hitler too – for a while.

I still believe your sheriff’s VOTE THEM OUT is the best battle cry for this summer. It resounds on both sides of the aisle and seems to unconsciously say “vote the swamp out” without partisanship. It’s a message that we all can identify with these days, and that’s really all we need.

Stay vocal this summer!

sent with love,

Why You Can’t Preach Jesus on Sunday and Speak Well of Trump on Monday

One can no longer respect institutions that preach the teachings of Jesus Christ on Sunday, and speak well of Donald Trump on Monday. We are only facing a constitutional crisis in the USA because we are failing to address the moral crisis of remaining silent about a president who lacks decent character by any standard of measurement.

My Letter to Pastors, Preachers, Rabbis and Teachers in The United States

When Roy Moore was running to represent Alabama in the senate, I sent an email to all the Baptist pastors in Alabama, and asked them to make the sermon of their lives. I don’t know how many pastors took my advice or even read my email. But three wrote back, and I felt I did what I had to do. Roy Moore, a known child molester, did not become a US senator. And for that, we are all thankful to Alabamans.

I am calling on pastors to create a well thought-out and coordinated Sunday Sermon to address how to best preserve our American democracy and the rule of law.  Many Americans believe we have a president who is trying to obstruct or skirt justice for acts he committed as part of an unholy life, motivated by ego, greed and a complete lack of respect for others.

I am aware that many Evangelist pastors supported Donald Trump and many probably (not all) still do.  Now that we all have had 18 months to see how he performs and who he really is, if you still actively or passively support Trump you should reconsider. You are making a big mistake for yourself, your community and the country. This short letter will explain why.

First, think on the kids of Parkland, Florida. I wondered why these 16-year old students  have such strident idealism and also the support of so many American right now.  I thought back to when I was 16  – and it hit me.

There are two special times in a person’s life when one can possibly afford the luxury of being idealistic. The first of those times is when you are a teenager in the home of a well-to-do loving parent. Because the roof over your head and meals are paid for by your parents, you have the time to ponder what seems right to you in life and stand up for that with your heart, soul and at least your spoken words.

But what happened to the idealism of the hippie generation of the 1960’s? They graduated college and went out into the world to make a buck. And after a few years of that struggle ( which was much less of a struggle back then than it is today ) the hippie youthful idealism was gone. All but vanished. And soon, an “it’s all about me” generation was in power. And by the 1980’s we even heard “greed was good.”

In Paul Simon’s song, El Condor Pasa, the lyrics say “A man gets tied up to the ground, he gives the world its saddest sound.” I did not understand the meaning of those lyrics as a young man, but I do now. It’s actually a Peruvian folk song and it means while men have to struggle to get by or make ends for a family, it’s easy to lose their idealistic dreams. The loss of their youthful idealism is the world’s saddest sound

A man’s life re-opens to idealism after a proper retirement. After we have brought up our families, paid our mortgages and bills more or less, and are covered for life, we can afford to get back in touch with our lost youthful idealism.  Between the ages of 21 and 65, its hardest to remain idealistic. It’s why I think older retired folks make better politicians than people with families to nurture.

Which brings me to why you must make the sermon of your life again very soon, but this time your congregation needs to hear about what Jesus would have said about Donald Trump and what defines justice today. Because if you fail to rally teenagers to Jesus’s point of view, you lose them for life. And most teenagers can see through Donald Trump, even though many of their parents can’t.  Anyone can certainly can see Trump does not possess the qualities of a holy or even a good man according to the teachings of Jesus.

Let me go over some of Jesus’s teaching, to highlight just how far Trump is from being a man worthy of respect.

  • For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many. (Trump never served anyone in his life.)
  • But I say to you, Love your enemies … ( Trump is so off-base here, he even asks that we hate some of our neighbors.)
  • Let the one among you who is without sin be the first to cast a stone.
  • For what shall it profit a man, if he gain the whole world, and suffer the loss of his soul? ( I think this is the most fitting for Mr. Trump, since it speaks to profit and greed. Trump has repeatedly shown he is willing to step on anyone for profit. )

Preachers. Teachers. Pastors. I don’t have to tell you how never-Trump Jesus was. Before you advocate for Trump again, or fail to use your pulpit to advocate against Trump, who now clearly represents a sort of anti-Christ incarnate, think on your teenagers! You are losing them right now, in the most idealistic part of their lives.

Today’s teenagers will grow to become adults, as we all do. But Trump-era teenagers will have no respect for institutions that preach the teachings of Jesus Christ on Sunday, and speak well of Donald Trump on Monday.

Our idealistic teenagers just can’t square that circle in their minds. And now that I am semi-retired, neither can I.

Dear preachers and teachers,

trump-christ2Please share this memo along with your own thoughts on this matter with your community and fellow religious leaders. We are only facing a constitutional crisis in the USA because we are failing to address the moral crisis of remaining silent about a president who lacks decent character by any standard of measurement.

This is particularly noticeable in Congress. Your representatives do not get to tell you what is right. They represent you. You have to know what is right. And you have to tell them to represent your ideas, not the other way around. But first, one has to formulate those ideas and that takes some introspection. Remember, most politicians are self-serving opportunists who are not in the least idealistic. Idealism is supposed to be the realm of religion. Lose idealism, and you can forget respect for your religious teachings going forward.

Thank You for your considerations.

I am open you your thoughts at: josepharonesty@gmail.com

Security Clearances – “Thick As Thieves” and The ‘CLEAN HOUSE’ Bill

Americans are worried that over thirty top staffers in the White House don’t have security clearance. What’s the point of vetting staffers if their boss, the president, refuses to be vetted and is suspect of being compromised by the Russians? …

Over thirty top staffers in the White House don’t have security clearance. Without uniform and thorough vetting processes, those who are privy to top secrets can be blackmailed by their past connections, crimes and embarrassing behavior. Well duh – but what’s the point of vetting staffers if their boss, the president, refuses to be vetted and is suspect of being compromise-able?

manchurian-bwDoes it occur to anyone that a US president should also be vetted for security? And yes, maybe they should be vetted before they are even allowed to be candidates. But that would be for 2020, I guess. For now, the president is actually the most important person in the US to be un-compromised and un-compromise-able.  Think about it. Without presidential vetting in place, we have created a safe space – a gun-free zone so to speak – for a potus to commit crimes and engage in self-dealing without reproach. And now that Kushner has been found using the White House to get large business loans, its clear that self-dealing was the intention of the president and his generals when they took office.  How rampant is this?  Very rampant! A dirty boss would want to surround himself with other like-minded criminals, so they are naturally loyal to each other. No Boy Scouts allowed. Thick as thieves, they used to say.

Does any senator or congressman or person have the guts to propose a bill that says “going forward, no one can work in the White House without security clearance, the president included.” That is in the public interest, is it not? Representatives are supposed to be working in the public interest. This is a damning failure in job performance and likely not to be advanced because many of them fear that scrutiny would expose their own crimes.

Trump says he cares about protecting Americans. How is allowing insecure staffers get top secret info “caring” about security? It is not. So we must care for ourselves here. We can’t be stupid. Trump’s early campaign line was “How stupid are the people of Iowa?” Well America, how stupid are we going to be about security clearances in the White House or the Congress for that matter?

I want to propose a CLEAN HOUSE BILL. And we can state the exact vetting process by which ALL campaigners for high office, and even current office holders will be subject to. No exceptions. This is security. It must be applied to all with the exact same standards, regardless of the position of said vetted person, POTUS included.

Can someone please advance this notion in a bill, ASAP? With that in place, we would not need Mueller to investigate Russia to hold Trump accountable to some degree. I would think declaring 5 years of taxes would be part of any vetting process. It’s a new day. We must be smarter, or we will lose this democracy this year.

Trump Is Buying the Government

Trump has been buying key people to escape justice for the crimes of espionage, money laundering and tax evasion. His modus operandi has always been to bribe or enrich certain key people to smooth the way for his crimes and projects. Right now, his only project of concern is avoiding prosecution for Russia. If he loses that battle, he loses his freedom and his family fortune. He’d rather sell the country out that have that happen. That’s why we don’t see any support to stop Russian meddling in 2018 or even implement a Russian sanction. They are his allies!  It’s not in his interest to sanction Russia as a criminal president – and he will need to stay in power to keep his fortune. And of course, if he sells Russia out, they will leak the whole ugly truth. He won’t love Wikileaks any more.

Between the who are bought and those who are suborned, the US democracy does not have a chance unless Mueller delivers the whole truth before November or we vote out all sold-out politicians And since the crooked politicians know this, the 2018 election will be rigged again.  The Russian meddling is still going on and Trump is not even implementing the sanctions. He needs them more than he needs food.

The Way Out Of This Mess

Trump’s projects must be stonewalled! I don’t care if Dreamers have to take a back seat for a short while. We won’t have a USA by year’s end if we don’t fix this now. So they will lose the US they love too unless we take decided action now.

#1 We don’t vote on a thing until the Russian sanctions are implemented.

#2 We don’t vote on a thing until Trump puts it in writing that he will not fire Rosenstein or Mueller without just cause, said cause to be determined by a court with many justices on a bench.

#3 We don’t vote on a thing until Jared Kushner and all Trump WH staffers are vetted by a thorough process conducted by the FBI. We can leave Trump out of this because it is sort of covered in #2.

Enough for today but one more thing.

Bernie and Biden should run together as a ticket and start campaigning now. No more Dem vs. Dem. These are our best, caring, well-spoken senior warriors. No women for POTUS this 2020 cycle. No ethnics either, I am sorry. We will need to appeal to Trump’s base people to some degree for one cycle. Once we win, anything is possible. But we must win in November. We can show the forgotten people that we care. And, if we keep our word to Trump’s base people and improve their lives, they will notice and we will be showered with two generations of loyal supporters. Trump’s base people actually are loyal, perhaps to a fault. That’s how we can take this country back and set it on a righteous course again.

And I have just got word that my commission to make 500 political buttons that say VOTE THEM OUT in solidarity for the Parkland shootings, has gone through and I will have them soon. This is ultimately the way out of our mess. We vote out all sold-out politicians.
