Until 2016, cyber warfare seemed to refer to something that could happen in the near future.

After World War II ended in 1945, a new world order was established. The United States assumed the dominant position in that new world order for having won the war and for having the biggest weapon, the A-bomb. Russia never fully accepted subservience to the USA. And so the Cold War era – with wars waged without bullets – was born. The main weapon of this cold war was espionage carried out by spies.
The 50’s-60’s cold war era cooled down over time, but it never fully went away. Since the advent of the internet, the weapons of that cold war – have increasingly become electronic. It’s now called cyber-warfare.Cyber warfare summoned up visions like electric grids gone down, banks hacked and drained of cash reserves, and even cars that drive off cliffs. But until 2016, it always seemed to refer to something that was going to happen in the near future. In countries that still have free and fair elections, election meddling that favors “Manchurian” candidates, friendly to the attackers’ country, is one major objective of cyber war.
Cyber-warfare is no longer a thing of the future. The hacking of the US 2016 presidential election will be remembered historically as the first major attack in the“Cyber Warfare Era”. Vladimir Putin will be dubbed cyber warfare’s first grand master.
WHAT IS WAR?
Historically, what are the objectives when launching an offensive war? Those would be stealing resources or territories that do not properly belong to the attacker. Offensive war is an attempt at piracy. It’s done for booty. And then there is the defensive response and a two-way war is on.
The Russian election hack of 2016 was a war against democracy, and we must defend ourselves once again just the way the WW2 generation did for us, laying down their lives in the 1940’s. This post explains why dictatorships seek to exterminate democratic countries. It’s not complicated. It’s one planet and two philosophies: self-governance by the people or strong man iron fist rule. They don’t coexist very well – especially in this internet social media world where information about free countries can get to the people who live in dictatorships.
Both the intelligence evidence and public consensus is now that Putin/Russia attacked the United Statesin 2016 via acts of cyber-warfare to get their chosen man elected to president of the United States. The USA have already lost the Cyber War of 2016!
The cyber war of 2016 was not initiated for fun – it was initiated for booty. The cyber-war winners expect payoffs. That’s how war works. Elections have consequences – but so does surrendering to the enemy!
The Cyber War of 2016 is over, but they are gearing up to have another go at it in 2020. This big question still remains.
Now that the Russian cyber-warfare is getting exposed, will Putin still get what he wanted from his horse in the race, so to speak? Putin used his mastery of cyber warfare to help put Trump in as POTUS for concrete reasons. Those reasons are Putin’s agendas of lifting sanctions, acquiring resources, money and territories – the very same objectives desired in an offensive war waged with bullets and bombs.
Will the laws, traditions, citizenry and deep backbone of the USA resist with such solidarity that Putin’s man in office, Donald Trump, is rendered powerless to give Putin what he bargained for?
Will we resist this Russian coupe of our executive branch so that Putin’s horse in the race, Donald Trump, is exposed for espionage and indicted for the crimes he and his teams committed?
It should be clear to all of us, if we don’t expose and indict the perpetrators of this cyber warfare attack, we are giving those same players a green pass to do this over and over again.
And if we swiftly don’t make 100% sure this cannot happen again, it will be the same as if we had lost a war waged with bullets and signed terms of surrender. Yes, less bodies. That’s a new age technology perk. I guess it’s historically cool – but maybe not for us.
It sort of compared to the Trojan Horse story. Trump is sort of a Trojan Horse if you think about it. Welcomed by his supporters, he gains access to the military and judicial arms of government and turns on those who welcomed him.
It occurs to me that cyber warfare has come of age because our modern, high-tech nuclear and biological weapons are now so lethal that they really cannot be used. A need for warfare without death evolved – a way to get what one wants from war, without the fallout from actual war.
As of today, November 2020 is about 400 days away. We immediately need open-sourced hack-proof voting systems. These are not expensive. The technology already exists. Or we can use paper trails. Why is this not being installed by Trump’s GOP? You can guess that! It’s not the way they can win in 2020. Trump’s GOP is not in the majority in the USA. They can’t win the Senate or the House in a fair election.
Congress! Citizens! Stop bickering about walls, gays, right-to-choose, and what is not important. This infighting is exactly what Putin wants! Putin even said that in his acceptance speech. Or are you okay with us fully surrendering to Putin? Restrict Trump’s war and pardon powers now – at least while the impeachment is on. There is no telling what Trump will do. A cornered rat will bite. By announcing we are out of the Mideast today, Trump essentially surrendered to Putin. Expect more surrendering of our interests. Myself. I consider this treasonous.
The Dems should choose a team – a candidate, VP, Secretary of State and DA (super important to prosecute the criminals that have taken over our government) and RUN AS A TEAM! This is a war! Act like it!
The famous Greeks strategy at Thermopolae was to focus resources against great numbers and odds. But Dem campaign dollars are being thinned out over a dozen candidates who all have the same basic message: beat Trump.
The hacking of the US 2016 presidential election will be remembered as the first major attack in “the cyber warfare era” and Vladimir Putin will be dubbed its first grand master.

Manipulating public opinion via social media played a critical role in Trump’s win. But what happens if we use that same technology for good? It’s time to find out.

Why let these communication technologies drown us when we can just as easily ride this wave to a better democracy here and consequently to a better planet for all mankind? In other words, why should the bad guys be using these technologies in 2020 while we sit by and watch this same show again? It’s just not smart. And we’ll need fresh andsmart this cycle.
The very sameplatforms that helped spread Russian lies and fake news, changing the arc of American politics, can be used to heal our divided country and create aninformed consensus that reflects the true attitudes and desires of the majority.
Open-Source Issue-driven Democracy Software and Forumwould function as a perpetual town hall meeting. It would inform our elected representatives of what the majority of Americans want. We will never have to hear politicians tell us what we want again!
Instead of a candidate telling us what we want and need, the smart candidate asks: “Americans, on both sides – what do you want?” Politicians are supposed to support our lives – not the other way around! Ten pressing issues can be discussed and we vote on the first Tuesday of every month. Sure, the votes don’t count – but they will be what informs this smart candidate of what the entire country’s majority wants. And that would be the prime job of this website. Our elected representatives only job is to support what the majority of Americans really want. The software finds out what that majority opinion really is while educating citizens. It’s a win win. And the way politicians keep using their offices for self-enrichment, and defending their cronies who do the same, it’s a smart fix for a government which has long been corrupt in nature.
Here is my example short list of ten top issues pressing on Americans right now. But I welcome a discussion on these issues.
Healthcare – How do we want to treat pre-existing conditions? Do we want medicare for all or a combination of two systems? How do we rein in prescription drug prices? What do we do when people don’t want healthcare? etc.
Taxation and income inequality – Income inequality is a world-wide issue. Should there be a cap on what SEO’s can make? Should the tax break given to big corps by the Trump administration continue, expand – or scale back? Do we need a more progressive tax system the way it was in the 1950’s? etc.
Gun laws – Do the majority of Americans want background checks? Checks on automatic weapons? Better protection in schools? etc.
Border Security – What do we really want here?
Infrastructure – American infrastructure is falling behind the pace set in modern countries like Japan. Where and when do we start catching up?
Money in politics – Do Americans like Citizens United and lobbying? Should government reps not be able to serve unless they show their taxes?
Internet regulations and social media – What do Americans on both sides want here?
Gerrymandering and voting rights – What do we want? This should not be up to elected officials in a democracy.
Climate science, environment and R & D – The planet’s #1 issue needs our all our focused energies. We don’t need to be torn apart over this. The software would allow the smartest among us to educate all of us with brilliant ideas that can be deployed.
Education – We are falling behind in all age levels when it comes to education. How do we turn this around?
What does this software look like? This is what democracy looks like.
It just looks like a website with categories to explore. Nothing complicated. The categories are simply the issues we need to discuss. In each category, there are links to education on the issue, articles by experts from both sides, guest speakers and a chat room where citizens can discuss issues in a civil manner. Bad words are auto-censored. The technology for all of this exists. People who violate rules of engagement are banned.
No bots are allowed. There are ways to insure that. Facebook just does not try hard enough. Besides the education room and chat room there are two more rooms. One is a voting room.First Tuesday of every monthwe all vote on what we are learning. The votes are never for people. The votes are for the issues. And there is a vote tabulation room where results are published. That creates the big data we need to know where the center of America really is.
Penalties for wayward politicians must be established in 2019. Showing one’s taxes is a must. The law should read that no one can “serve” in federal government without openly declaring 6 years of taxes. We don’t want this to happen ever again.
Politicians who do not vote for what the majority decides are violating their oaths of office. We’ll have to make laws that say violating one’s oath is grounds for immediate impeachment. None of this 66% of the Congress stuff. That’s the law that has us in chains. I don’t think the founders figured on Congress members becoming so sold out. Morality and economics were way different when our constitution was written. And generally, relying on things that were written so long ago is a recipe for being out of touch.
And that’s it. The Forum for Democracy can help us solve our political and civic engagement problems. It could finally make good use of internet and social media technologies. And if it works here, it can work anywhere. Brexit? It can work there too. The Middle East? Why not? But first things first. We really have to fix the American democracy first. The world is watching. Our example can reform the world. And if we don’t succeed we may enter a new modern form of the Middle Ages.
The software can be adopted by a small group, like a town. That town could be here in the USA or a village somewhere in Africa. It works the same everywhere and anywhere people want democracy to govern their decisions! It can start small like a ripple. But it scales large like a tsunami.
We all now can see the degree of dysfunction and corruption in governments, both here and abroad. The media is doing that job fairly well. So with that track record and with Congress being less popular than cockroaches, why should citizens leave their governing to politicians? That seems to be a long-broken model. But that dysfunctional model can be fixed with Democratic Software and a burning desire to clean up corruption.
Let’s face it. Politicians have repeatedly proven themselves to be sold out as a group. Yes, there are some dedicated public servants in politics. Our new Congress has many optimistic young members. But there are also greedy business people and criminals who, legally and illegally, consider public service as an opportunity to steal from the public. Some even have foreign bank accounts to hide their theft. These politicians are, at best, unnecessary middlemen for our values – and at worse, they just ignore them and push for self-dealing.
Democratic Software,where citizens openly discuss ideas to improve their own common welfare and how to pay for it, could repair the citizen-representative disconnect which exists today even in so-called Democratic countries. That disconnect is glaringly obvious in the Trump GOP. They passed tax cuts for super-rich without the consent of their electorate. And they are trying to dismantle HealthCare for all, which just about every citizen wants. It makes zero sense to allow these people to legislate for us.
In a representative democracy, politicians should be doing our bidding. The re– in “re-presentative” government means we must first “present” our ideas. If we don’t first present ideas, we can’t blame the humans-are-greedy-by-nature politicians for taking advantage of their status – and representing for themselves or for their donors. Same thing when they can get paid secretly. After all, the largest USA representative, our president, is openly and clearly self-dealing.
So we need a private platform where we can voice and discuss our ideas and reach a consensus. And we have the technology already! What are we waiting for? We have reached the “just do it” moment. We can’t blame the politicians any longer. It’s getting old. We can only blame ourselves for letting them do this to us – over and over again.
The new Congress must change the laws against self-dealing too. Why do we allow representatives to have undeclared bank accounts? Why do we allow a presidential candidate to not show his taxes. This is pure stupidity. And it’s killing us.
One of the biggest challenges for the new Congress is to restore faith in the Congress. Many who support Trump still would still vote for Trump over Hillary. They reason she was dirty too. Some think Obama, Bush and Clinton were dirty as well. Trump and GOP supporters will need to see that there is such a thing as politicians who really care and for for the common welfare. If they don’t see and believe that, they will stick to what they are familiar with and we will continue this downwards spiral as a country. This is Russia’s long game objective. They have the patience to watch us devolve. We are actually losing that patience here now. We have to reach the “enough” phase and soon.
Politicians should really be bots for our decisions and have no right to sabotage the majority opinion.
There would be chat rooms to discuss all issues from gay rights to gun rights and links to real information from recognized experts on all sides of the arguments. There could even be a place for political ads ( to help pay for the servers and tech – this has to be a non-profit enterprise ) by American companies and vetted individuals, with equal space for ads guaranteed. We don’t have to wait for government to do this! This software would exist now outside of government with the objective to inform government with big data.
And yes, some issues are more national in scope than others, like air and water quality. There could be even world-wide discussions to pave a way to real world peace – to end terrorism – and even to insure the survival of the species. Imagine that! We can have forums on global warming and listen to the experts and then take informed actions.
We have this technology right now! The Google/Facebook technology was sabotaged by international criminals to get their boy to win the election of 2016. Reverse engineer this technology to redefine the way government functions. This is easy! Look into Voatz.com. They have the voting software already! We’ll need to partner with them or someone like them.
Regular Mock Votes
An essential part of any mock government site would be regularlyscheduled mock voting days. Maybe we could have them once a month to form good habits. We could call the first Tuesday of every month – Mock Vote Day – and reinforce the healthy civic tradition of getting real information and voting our own minds.
The sheer numbers in these monthly mock government votes would inform the honest players in our actual government as to the direction the majority really wants to be steered. Those who would de-rail this will be swiftly exposed. Mock Democracy with voting software is a super strong meme. Statistics don’t lie – they inform us.
And then we can finally insist that our representatives re-present the ideas of the majority, the way a democracy should work. Politicians who don’t represent the consensus would be quickly exposed and voted out or removed from office for not representing the majority, which his their sworn duty.

This is also the smartest way we can deal with the real elephant in our room – global warming. We’ll have to pool our brains and cut out the autocrats who milk the old ways for their own good – to the detriment of the human species.
Based on the current popularity of political news shows, I think Americans are ready for this. We can essentially use the same door employed to enter this dysfunctional governmental state- to exit it!
And if they ( Facebook, Google, or CNN) don’t want to do this – we can do this ourselves too. We can even Shark Tank the concept, if need be.

This post explains why we are in this struggle. It’s not about right vs. left. That is a facade. It’s about criminals and autocrats infiltrating governments everywhere.
It’s now pretty clear to all Americans the election of 2016 was a sordid affair on both sides. The candidates were clearly willing to cheatto win. Hillary got super-delegates to vote against their constituents’ chosen candidate – Bernie. Trump one-upped her by enrolling Russians ( clearly illegal, unpatriotic and unethical ) to help him with social media campaigns. Both sides were clearly crooked. Trump said this early on his campaign. “What does it matter if I don’t win?” Winning was just too important to both candidates and to their parties.
And that’s because behind these parties, there are large financial contributors who expect payback for their “investments”. If we don’t find a way to get money out of politics, this insanity is not going away. Got it?
American voters sort of knew both candidates choices were sold out. For voters, the 2016 election was more about voting out a long-established, entrenched and tone deaf government system than voting in anyone. The reality was Bernie, who delivered a sincere ( and perhaps overly idealistic ) populist message from the heart, was played by HRC, who was played by Trump. The 2016 election was like a game of rock/paper/scissors and spy vs. spy – combined.
Do we want 2016 to be the new standard in US elections? I don’t think so. Maybe politicians don’t mind this syndrome, as they can find ways to milk a rig-able system, but the general population really hates it. That’s why congress has such a low popularity.
2018 midterms are a blip away. If we go back to DEM vs GOP, to left vs. right, progressive vs. liberal, god vs. science, white vs. black, Christian vs. Muslim, men vs. women – we will continue to sink as a nation. Divided we will fail. That’s pretty clear.
Unfortunately, because Trump is primarily a money-loving cheater and con man, he must now try to obstruct justice and keep his party in power regardless of what the public wants. And the majority of the US public wants his party out of power. So right there we have a president who is working to undermine democracy, the very thing this country was based on! His business and tax cheating will certainly result in more election cheating to protect what has been stolen from the public. – Trump knows all this. cheating to win is the best they can do when they don;t care about the public. It’s what every dictator does. They ram laws down our throats and enforce them with police and military force. This is sick. And it must be stopped.
After the midterms, we will need a political attitude adjustment, – fresh inspiring ideas that can erase the borders we have constructed in our minds. Maybe this simple idea is it:imagine there were no political parties – or more of them.
The two party system plays a huge part in keeping our country divided. And do you know who likes that? Big business! Big business does better when there is no unity, focus or drive in the spirit of the working class. And it’s big business that pays off the politicians. In this new oligarchy era big business aligns financially with lawmakers to bust up unions, underpay workers, overpay CEO’s, give tax breaks to their rich buddies, use robots for work men can do, fix the vote, not pay for the old and sick and pollute the environment for profit.
That’s a short list of the crimes against the citizens of the USA that is going on right now under the current administration. But it’s been other administrations too – to various degrees. The system is broken. And if we don’t stop this, the living standards here in USA will continue to sink – as they have been since the 1980’s.
MOCK DEMOCRACY SITE
This is just my idealistic solution. But if we are to have a real democracy this is one way it can actually be done. In theory, it would work well for all Americans except crooked politicians, CEO’s and the uber-rich.
A web site is put up which simulates a mock government. Our key government issues are posted. The daily business of Congress is posted. The population gets educated on the issuesat the site from people with experience in the various fields. Videos, chat rooms and a place to have discussions are created. No “bad words” are allowed. (Sorry to go all 1950’s on you, but words can educate us or divide us.)
The LI in LIBRARY and LITERATURE is the same LI that is in LIGHT. The OR is ORAL is the same OR that is in TORCH and WORD. The ancients knew that words were like light. So no bad words. Bad words are like cancer. In fact, that’s why they call it a MALIGNANCY, a bad light or fire.
And then the site has a place for mock voting and taking polls. It’s a democracy, so the majority rules. Politicians can make their arguments too, but the population’s majority sentiment must rule if the USA is going to continue to be called a democracy. In this world, the politicians must function as robots for the majority. We’ll have make it so people without personal computers or smart phones can get access to the site – say at libraries, schools or public buildings. And the site has to be unhackable but that is easier to do than one might think. Block-chain technology can do it.
The site can apply to city, state and national levels. Politicians take an oath to vote for the will of the majority ( which they sort of do now but their oaths needs stronger wording ) and if they violate that they are removed from office and their opponent is installed or there is a line of succession. We would hardly need politicians to do anything more than educate us and do what we ask in Congress. And there would be no one to bribe in political office.
Robots replacing humans in the workplace is a trend we are hearing more and more about these days. Most Americans don’t like it. I don’t favor robots that take away jobs for CEO profit. They are doing fine enough.
But when people cannot do their jobs honestly, maybe that’s a place where robots would work better than humans. Robot politicians?Polibots? They do what their constituents request of them. Robots that cannot be re-programmed, hacked, suborned or bribed would be the goal. I sense blockchain technology would be involved. And if the actual politicians continue to surrender to personal greed, I figure we might catch on and use actual robots. Then the world depicted in Minority Report might ensue. Who really knows what the future holds for the human species. It’s not looking good right now, is it?
Back on point. We are taxed as citizens. Taxation without representation is still tyranny.We need our interests and values to be represented. If we differ on values, the majority can rule on national issues, but the states provide leeway for diversity and so in a divided nation states rights makes sense to keep the peace.
Regardless of what Trump GOP representatives say about promises made on the trail, polibots could not support or advance busting the ACA, or tax breaks for the rich because polls show the American people don’t want the GOP’s healthcare or tax breaks for the rich, business-owner class. Both these GOP ideas have support levels that are close to 22%. So they would be DOA in a real democracy.
A real democracy. It sounds like such a dream. A way forward where we build infrastructure, create new jobs that are clean. But we have the software to do all of this right now.

Let’s turn the Untied States of America into the United States of America – again. Or should I say, let’s Make Our States United Again.
I will add this. The WW11 generation fought to preserve democracy in the 1940’s. Their sacrifices will be recorded historically as an effort done in vein if we continue to allow money to sell us out the way we are today.
If GDP growth was spread out evenly across the population, every person in your family should have had $4300 more to spend in the last year. Did that happen for you?

From now until the November midterms, you are going to hear Trump and the GOP selling you that everything is getting better for you and all Americans citing the GDP, the Gross Domestic Product, as proof. In theory, GDP is the sum of the dollar value of everything made in the US for any given year. In theory, if that GDP number goes up, it should means things are getting better for Americans. The second quarter’s GDP growth was 4.1%. It’s a good number. But does it really mean things are getting better for you?
Let’s take a look at the recent history of published GDP figures. ( Google GDP and GDP per capita. ) The numbers are in trillions of dollars, which is 1,000 billion.
I also show a line graph which breaks the GDP numbers down to GDP per person. That should be the only important graph to average Americans because it shows how the GDP growth is helping the average American. And it’s not!
You can see that our ability to buy things with this GDP “growth” has been slowly sinking. That’s because our annual inflation usually outruns our GDP growth. Note: Trump’s tariffs are going to accelerate the cost of living and inflation way beyond the 4.1 % reported GDP growth.
What Do These Graphs Mean?
Though GDP goes up nearly every year since 2000 from 1% to 4%, when you adjust for inflation, cost of living and population growth, the per capita spending power of the average American is on a slow 40 year slide – going back to Reagan. The Clinton economy started very badly, but made a valiant recovery in its last few years resulting in an almost even situation for most Americans. Bush’ s presidency was the worst for most Americans and ended with a depression. Obama’s term made up the slight loss of the Clinton presidency, but what was lost in the Bush years and the years before has not been recovered. And Trump’s presidency has really just begun, so it’s hard to tell if GDP growth is helping most Americans so far. With tariffs and oil prices up, it feels like another economic wash. So let’s look closer.
In Trump’s first two years you can see GDP is up 1.13 trillion dollars. But how does that help you? Divide the GDP growth by the number of people ( man, woman and children) in the USA. That is 1.13 trillion divided by 300 million. That number is $4300 per person. That means that if GDP growth was spread out evenly across the population, every person in your family should have had $4300 more to spend in the last year. Did that happen for you and yours?
What happens if that $4300 per person money only goes to CEO’s and people like Trump who are already super-rich? The answer is – it does not help you. An increase in GDP only helps the average American if the money is shared with the average American. It’s the degree of GDP profit sharing that measures how economic growth helps the average American.And if the standard of living keeps sinking, clearly that GDP growth still means very little to the average American. And yet, you are going to hear Trump and the GOP going on and on about how wonderful they are making things for average Americans.
Dear Trump supporters, your GOP and president are lying to you. They are pulling the wool over your eyes. Trump has said “They only know what we tell them” and “How stupid are the people of Iowa”. That tells you how much respect he has for you. He still has that casino owner mentality. Everyone is a sucker to Trump, except people richer and more crooked than he is. That’s why he speaks well of dictators like Putin Kim Jong-un.

Trump does none of the above and never has. I think even his supporters know that.
The Folly of Deregulation
Another talking point is that Trump is smart for deregulating industry. While I can agree that some regulations are overdone, when regulations force large profit-oriented corporations to keep our common environment clean and safely remove their own wastes – that’s a good thing. Of course, company profits will go up when they can just dump their wastes in a river. But who pays for that clean-up and the resultant health damages to us all? We all do! Future waste clean-up and health costs to humans are not factored into the GDP number.
So the GDP growth number is simply not a true or full measure of the state of health of our economy. It’s just one of many measuring tools. But you will hear the GOP tout GDP growth as something that is good for you. I am just pointing out that when things are really good for you – you will know. We don’t have to be told that X or Y is or will be good for us. We will know in our hearts, minds, spirits and pockets when things get better.
GDP is like a baseball team’s batting average. Higher is generally better. But without good pitching, defense, and coaching – the team with the most hits does not always win, does it? It’s the final score that matters. GDP does not inform us on how Americans are doing as individuals.
Coca-Cola just announced the price of a Coke is going up because the aluminum cans will cost more due to Trump’s tariffs. The government could have stipulated that the billionaire Coca-Cola Company could not pass the tariff ( a tax ) on to American consumers, but that is not how the GOP or the Trump government operates. They freely let the manufacturers pass their cost increases on to consumers with no oversight. – And that means you and I are paying the tariffs – not the big companies. Further, the tariff money goes directly into Trump’s treasury and does not help the average American at all unless it is shared with them. And that is not being done. What a scam! And then he tries to get his supporters to like the idea of getting no bang for their buck.
We all end up paying for Trump’s tariffs. Further, any self-dealing politician (Trump is not the only one ) with foreign bank accounts can favor this or that industry or company, after they are secretly paid in those accounts. It’s called picking winners. It’s also called graft. I know our American farmers are figuring that out right now. If I had the ability to make one rule to save democracy, it would be to stop the ability of politicians to have secret banks accounts. That’s how the crimes get done.
One thought that occurs to me these days is maybe Russia will be allowed to hack the US Treasury and the banking sector this cycle. It’s certainly do-able. No one is looking that closely. Trump certainly has done nothing to stop Russian hacking. We hear talk about hacking the grid. Is this how Trump will pay Putin back for the election help? Who really knows? We let them have private meetings. How stupid is that? We’d never know from Trump. And you cannot deny he has done little to nothing to stop Russia’s cyber-war efforts.
Dear Trump supporter,
Do not be fooled by the GOP’s GDP victory lap. Unless you experienced a $4300 per person increase in your family’s income, your share of that gain was heavily diluted. The entire GOP effort has been to lower standards for average Americans to benefit the super rich, like the Koch’s and Trump’s. That’s why you see them trying to break up affordable healthcare and lower taxes more on the rich than the poor. Those two efforts should tell you all you need to know.
Trump has been at war with the world since he was a kid. – And he has not outgrown that child within himself. That is his personal struggle. Dear Americans, Trump’s struggle does not have to be ours.
The 2016 hack and publish act is the greatest theft ever committed against the United States. It will be remembered that way, – if we survive this.

Dear Trump Supporter:
Imagine you were a Russian tasked with the goal to hack into the 2016 elections to get dirt on Hillary Clinton and help Trumpwin. Where would you start? You certainly would not start at the top with Trump, unless you already knew him and his answer. Assuming you did not know if Trump would be okay with foreign hacking help in an election, you would first have to find that much out. Why would you expose yourself as a criminal hacker, if the person you are trying to help might not be interested and even possibly turn you in? To get that permission, you’d have to find a way explain the risks and rewards to Donald Trump.
Those actual inquiring communications from the Russians and the consequent permissions to proceed are the two main elements in the conspiracy to hack the 2016 United States electoral system. The principles of the theft are clearly Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump, as they are the two prime beneficiaries of the theft. They are for whom the stealing was done.
And what allies did the Russian hackers find here in America? Steve Bannon, Michael Flynn, Paul Manafort, Michael Cohen, Roger Stone, Jared Kushner top the list but there are many others. This is exactly what and whom ex-marine Bob Mueller is investigating. He is doing it to save America from being taken over by Russia – not with bullets ( they know they can’t do that) but with words.
Trump knows zero about hacking, but said ( April 30, 2017) “It’s very hard to know who did a hack, once it’s done.” Who told him that? He certainly did not read it somewhere. Someone told him this as part of the attempt to get his permission. But, it backfired. Mueller’s team did indeed figure out who the hackers were. Maybe that’s what Trump will say to Putin privately in Helsinki “Hey Vlad, you said it could never be traced. Now what do I do?”
It’s well-known that Donald Trump does not handle details. He never could. In college, he paid for his homework. ( I was in a class with him at Wharton and know this first-hand. ) Trump doesn’t “study”. He views preparation as beneath him. ( He has said that too, in his roundabout ways.) Trump pays people to do everything for him – even his reading and thinking. So it took detail-oriented Americans like Bannon, Stone, Flynn and Kushner to set this complex entanglement in motion. But even if Trump did not want to know the details of the 2016 hack and publishcyber-operation, the physical actors needed the permission of Donald Trump (or a nod from Donald Jr.) to actually go through with it all. This compares to a Mafia don ordering a hit. The don does not do the crime so he can claim “it wasn’t me”, but he still must approve it.
Re: Ads in Facebook, Twitter and Google. Russians could not possibly know enough about the nuances of our complex country to time ads and precisely target the right audiences – like they did in places as remote as Ferguson, Mo. They needed American help. And that is espionage. The 2016 hack and publish actis the greatest theft ever committed against the United States. It will be remembered that way, – if we survive this.
Why the Russians Wanted Donald Trump
Trump has had Russian holdings and business arrangements for a long time. These arrangement started in the 80’s, when he started washing his casino cash in foreign banks, like so many corporate crooks and money launderers do. That’s when he first crossed paths with Russian Mafia plaers. These international players don’t want to pay less tax, they want to pay no tax!Why support American infrastructure if you don’t have to is Trump’s MO. Guilt? Not Trump! “I really don’t care”. That, I think, is why Melania selected that infamous jacket. It’s something she probably hears at home a lot.
Putin knows Trump has had undeclared cash bank accounts overseas. Thats’ the main reasonhe was an ideal candidatefor a rogue nation to support: Trump can easily be blackmailed for his past financial crimes. That’s also why he does not show his taxes. And rest assured Putin does not care about Americans. The democracy that America represents works against dictators who want to steal. And Trump won’t do anything to stop Putin because he is compromised or suborned, as the Russians call it. Trump also kind of likes what he is doing. It’s an ego trip that’s making him richer – so far at least.
We all know there are many sold-out politicians who just don’t care about average Americans. It’s a shame, but true. But only a self-centered egomaniac like Donald Trump would stoop to espionage and selling out his country to Russia for a buck. We have not had a traitor like Donald Trump since Benedict Arnold.
Vladimir Putin is the biggest thief in the history of the world. He has stolen about 200 billion dollars from the existing businesses in Russia in the last 10 years. To carry his plan further and not get caught for what has been stolen, Putin needs the powerful democratic countries of the world to wither away. Weakened, they won’t have the means or resolve to stop his aggressive stealing and land grabs. ( i.e., Ukraine.)
Putin and Trump both supported Le Pen in France and the Russians tried to hack that election too. The French resisted successfully. And Boris Johnson, the Brexit candidate in the UK, was touted by Trump as being a fine candidate for prime minister. The truth is, democracy is just not good for dictators. It gets in the way of their stealing. What thief wants justice? Dictator’sUnitedis the new Citizens United – and its game on, if we don’t stop it.
Destroying the NATO alliance and democracies like the USA are major goals for dictators like Vladimir Putin. Because Trump is not happy with the few billion he has stolen so far, Trump is a complicit ally in Putin’s global domination projects. Like so many with greed disease, he wants more. Those who do not oppose Trump will eventually realize they have been duped in an effort to make fascism the dominant political force on the planet. Dictator’s United now has its sites on the USA – not just 3rd world countries. What they can’t conquer by force, they will attempt to temp conquer via puppet regimes. That’s pretty much what they have here with Trump. So far, the GOP senators are silent, so Russia is winning. But we can all do something about this soon.

I’m not going to give up on raising my voice for democracy. But sometimes it appears Trump’s opponents are doing just that. Trump runs these campaign style rallies.
Let’s really wonder why.
It’s easy to think these Trump rallies are made-up campaigns to get TV time. To many, they even look silly. But to the people in that town andto Trump’s supporters across the nation, it does NOT look silly! To them, it looks like HE CARES and NOBODY ELSE DOES!
This is salesmanship. I went to Penn with Trump, but they did not teach this at Penn. ( Not that Trump studied. ) This is what he learned as a casino owner – on the AC boardwalk. Con games. I had a jewelry shop on that boardwalk back then. There was salesmanship meme that trickled down from the Nucky Thompson days.They only know what you tell them, etc. I just did not care to go that route in life. But Trump is telling them what they want to hear during these rallies.
So. If Joe Biden is running in 2020, he’d better start now.I meanthis week!
Whoever is running, they’s better start now! If they don’t, they will appear like Johnny come late-lies in 2020. They will appear low energy. And Trump will use that phrase along with weak, tired and old.
They don’t have to announce they are running. Not at all. That would be a mistake. But they can’t sit back and watch him win hearts and minds unopposed.They must get out there and show they care and that they have the energyfor this.
I suggest when Trump announces these campaign rallies going forward, there is ALWAYS one other serious competing pop-up venue, (a town hall is best,) running at the same time, close to his rally. In the same media range for sure.
That way folks can decide if they like the carnival barker who is paying attention to them, or the other guy who is asking them questions on how their lives could be better and how he can help. But now, there is no other voice whispering in their ears.
If we let Trump run unopposed to 3 1/2 years, he may effectively run unopposed in 2020. Hence the gallish subject line. Especially if we bicker as to whom should top the bill, and who should retire, etc.
These campaign rallies will affect November 2018!We need to start running against Trump during these campaign rallies, each and every one!
Bernie and Biden can do this. ( I believe they should run as a ticket – and decide later who is president and who is VP and even 3rd in line. Think outside the box. Trump is. )
And if they don’t have the energy or foresight for this now – then they are likely done.
Someone must take up the charge against his agenda ASAP. Explain to people that the nickles he saves them with tax cuts, cant pay for the education, healthcare, and infrastructure they sorely need. And how they are being misled.
These campaign rallies do work to some degree, which beats no counter effort from the side of reason and love.
Finally, and this is sad to write, but we must also be realistic. We know what we are witnessing is whitelash. This country was not ready for a black president. And we still are not. So not this cycle. I love Cory Booker. But not this cycle. And no women either. Not for a presidential ticket. Everywhere else is more than fine. Just how it is.
WE CAN NOT AFFORD TO LOSE IN 2018 OR 2020. We cannot afford to gamble. Unfortunately, we need to convince those who fear minorities and misogynists that we have their backs.
If you have connections to your representatives, and we all should these days, please get print this idea out, and get it over to the right people. Circulate this idea in social media with a focus on Biden. Bernie. Swalwell.
btw – I would put nothing behind these guys. They are killers. He has even said so. They will do anything do keep their economic advantages.
PS. They are killers is the root of the Indian word Yosemite. I sort of see the word “smite” hidden in there. I believe all languages are connected, if you look close enough. After Trump is deposed, I will get back to my passion of teaching the ways languages connect. We are all connected. But right now, we are at war – and the enemy is within.
I have put this argument together for people on the left and right. If you call yourself a conservative please wade through this and think for yourself. Let’s all set the many differences in our life views aside for a moment. Americans need to reason together now or we will all soon surely suffer great losses.
Donald Trump has openly set a course to dismantle many long-standing governmental institutions. Good examples are installing Betsy DeVos as education secretary and placing industry insiders in charge of the EPA. The philosophy behind this tactic is “the private sector can do the work better than the government”.
I wonder about this. Regardless, the work has to ultimately be done by people. If necessary work is done by private corporations, their souls are primarily driven by profits for owners and investors. The people doing actual work are viewed as expenses in their balance sheets.
However, if work is done with the US government at the helm, ideally all taxpayers have a share in the profits of that work. It is our government to share. But unless we are investors or owners, it is not our corporation to share. Not at all. Think on that next time someone tries to sell you trickle down anything.
The GOP advertises this philosophy but there has been zero proof that it works for over 40 years. It appears to be a cover-up for fattening the wallets of the super-rich, and for that there is 40 years of evidence.
While many functions historically belong to the private sector, some clearly do not. For example, the military could be a private sector enterprise. They call people who go into the militia for pay mercenaries. But this is not the way we do military here in the US, and it’s probably a good thing. If making war creates corporate profits, it opens the avenue for more wars. To many, it still feels like the Vietnam war was about corporate profits.
In the USA we have public education because those who have come before us have deemed it to be in our national interest to have well educated citizens. So I have begun to wonder whether this course of dismantling government agencies so that their functions are left for corporations to do is even legal or constitutional.
Still Trump is plodding ahead with corporatism. And of course, he gets to choose who gets the fat contracts. By now its also clear he has the undeclared foreign bank accounts to accept any bribes for those assignments. That can’t be good for our nation, but it is good for the Trump family if all they care about is money. Most Americans believe that today.
So how is this corporate direction working so far for our nation?
Trump’s secretaries of State have not made enough foreign assignments needed to adequately represent the United States across the globe. Weakening our world presence makes us less safe. Our presidents all take an oath to do their best to keep us safe. If this is Trump’s best, it’s incompetence – and if it’s not his best, it’s a willing attempt to sell this country out, which is also exactly what Russia, our sworn enemy, wants.
Trump’s secretary of Education, Betsy de Vos, does not fully believe in public education. Trump’s head of the Environmental Protection Agency is not protecting the environment. Scott Pruitt was selling out the environment the EPA was designed to protect to the highest bidders and swiftly undoing the environmental safeguards we have put in place over the last 40 years. And Trump says he is doing a great job for the economy. Yes, its a great job if you don’t care about the citizens of this country and think of them as deficits on the balance sheet of corporate profits.
Trump is also trying to undo Medicare, Affordable Care, Women’s HealthCare and now even the Veterans Administration is not sacred to his party. He seems to aim to stop the VA from functioning by putting incompetent or sold-out yes men in charge, setting the VA on a path to privatization. If this becomes successful, his donors can sell the VA’s pieces to the highest bidders in big medicine, stuff their pockets – and run. This will not serve veterans and they know it. Trump fired the head of the VA because he was actually trying to improve things for our veterans.
Trump’s party members are in effect using the corporate raider system to bankrupt the USA, piece-by-piece – and they have the undeclared foreign bank accounts to hide what they steal. They are even trying to dismantle the Post Office. And if a corporation does not stand with Trump, and buy into his plans, like Amazon and Jeff Bezos, he tries to undo them.
All the above mentioned agencies existed before this presidency and have been in place for many presidencies, generations and in some cases centuries. These agencies exist and were formed because these agencies were deemed necessary to protect and provide for the citizens of this country that this government was designed to serve.
The people who voted for Trump did not weigh in and say we don’t want a public VA, clean air or good public education, nor did Trump run on those things. In fact, Trump’s supporters rejected Romney because he was honest and told them that he wanted more corporatism. In a democracy, a change at the top does not undo the importance of the work these established agencies were created to do for us. In an autocracy however, everything a country stands for can pivot on the whim of an authoritarian.
We have seen all this many times before in other countries, but never yet in the United States. Yet we are witnessing the piece-by-piece dismantling of the US government and and we are letting it happen. There are brains far smarter than Donald Trump behind this. They hide. Trump is just the spokesman for a wealthy, greedy, unpatriotic group of industrialists who want to profit by privatizing all the functions of the US government. And if that is not in the interest of the majority of Americans, and a president swears to do his best to protect our national interests, how can it be legal or constitutional?
Which brings me to this. What was the United States originally designed to do for its citizens? For that we need to look back to 1776.
What Can the Declaration of Independence Teach Us?
The enabling clauses of the the Declaration of Independence ( in italics for highlighting) is what forms the basis for the formation of this country. The colonists list their grievances with King George III of England, who had been ruling the colonies from an out-of-touch distance. This is where I please ask the fundamentalists, constitutionalists and Trump supporters – pay close attention and try to form your own independent opinion.
We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.–That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, …
Have the US citizens given consent to their president to stop protecting our environment? Negative! And when it comes to our liberty and our freedom, – how can “working with Russians to try to fix a free and fair election” be constitutional? It does not foster our liberty or freedom. It sells us all out.
There is very little Trump has done that has actually the consent of the public he serves. The public was 3:1 against his tax plan, and he/they did it anyway. He simply says things like “You elected me president, I can do what I want”, “I’m the president and you’re not”. This is not how democracy was designed to function. This is however exactly how an authoritarian oligarchy works.
The Words of a Fully-committed Authoritarian
Listen to what Putin said at a USSR hockey game to a CBS reporter. He said with an undeniable smirk “Trump is acting in accordance with his own government constitution and laws”. There is a sense that Putin knows Trump is struggling with the machinations and pesky laws of a democracy. You can listen to the interview by clicking on the photo.
Putin is a dictator who often silences his opposition the old-fashioned way. He does not have to abide by a constitution. His will is the constitution. There is no democracy in Russia. We are in the process of losing that here now.
Trump clearly wishes he had Putin’s supreme power. He has said so. He also said it might be a good thing if one could be president for life. Trump is actually working on that, step-by-step – and I get the distinct impression that the Russian help he is getting is more than just election meddling. Putin seems to be feeding him the steps he needs to take to become fascist authoritarian in the USA, like he is in Russia. I also say that because I know Trump is not that smart, nor is he a historian in any sense of that word. I went to Penn and saw him paying for his homework in 1967. We all knew he was no scholar. Like I said, other brains are behind this assault on democracy. I digress. Back on track.
The Declaration of Independence goes on to enumerate distinct grievances which form the reasons the colonists needed to get free of King George III and English rule. The colonists complaints sound frighteningly similar to the complaints the left has against Trump today. These are quotes from the 1776 document:
The history of the present King of Great Britain is a history of repeated injuries and usurpations, all having the object to establish an absolute Tyranny over these States. To prove this, let Facts be submitted to a candid world.
He has refused his Assent to Laws, the most wholesome and necessary for the public good. – That means George III held himself above the rule of law.
He has forbidden his Governors to pass Laws of immediate and pressing importance, and … he has utterly neglected to attend to them. This reminds me of Trump dismantling the EPA and ignoring climate science. All our citizens need and have clearly demanded that our government work to provide clean air and water. A clean environment speaks to the right to life.
He has refused to pass other Laws for the accommodation of large districts of people, unless those people would relinquish the right of Representation in the Legislature, … This is reminiscent of the GOP voter intimidation laws, Gerrymandering and census tampering. trump also attacks immigrants and people with brown skin.
He has called together legislative bodies at places unusual, uncomfortable, and distant from the depository of their public Records, for the sole purpose of fatiguing them into compliance with his measures. Reminiscent of when the GOP questioned witnesses in the Mueller probe in NYC rather than DC. Fatiguing opponents into compliance is so Trump-style one would think he studied King George III. But no. Trump does not study.
He has endeavored to prevent the population of these States; for that purpose obstructing the Laws for Naturalization of Foreigners; refusing to pass others to encourage their migrations hither, … This feels like what Trump is doing to the Mexicans and DACA kids.
He has made Judges dependent on his Will alone, for the tenure of their offices, and the amount and payment of their salaries. Trump repeatedly fires staff that do not bend to his will. He has affected to render the Military independent of and superior to the Civil power. He has obstructed the Administration of Justice … How amazingly similar to today’s conversations this all seems to be.
For cutting off our Trade with all parts of the world. Trump’s trade war fits right in there.
For imposing Taxes on us without our Consent: Trump’s billionaire tax relief bill fits here. And really, Americans were 75%-25% against his tax bill. He did not have our consent!
For suspending our own Legislatures, and declaring themselves invested with power to legislate for us in all cases whatsoever. This is what the nuclear option would do to America. King George did this and Trump is asking for it.
He is at this time transporting Armies of foreign Mercenaries to …. complete works of tyranny unworthy of a …civilized nation. And these remind me of the Russian accomplices Trump worked with to gain power. Yes, you have to adjust a bit for 250 years, but not that much.
He has excited domestic insurrections amongst us …. This is exactly what Trump does and has done since day one with his birther stance. He divides the nation into two artificial camps, weakens them both, and tries to conquer that way. His strategy is the house divided theory incarnate.
History does repeat itself. What King George III was a saw in the colonies was a way to make a buck without caring about the colonists. This is the same with Trump and the GOP. They view everything through the lens of their personal profits. They even try to enroll our citizens into thinking profit is all that matters in life.
I’m going to stop this now and not recommend the course out of this for us. We all know we have to vote out the president’s party in November. That is the only way out of the Trump Error. Yes, i said error – not era. Hopefully it will be over November, in less that 200 days. We are, in that case, 70% through the Trump Error.
It’s also worth mentioning that Fareed Zakaria just reminded us the Germany was the world’s most progressive democracy when Hitler destroyed the machinations of democracy – piece-by-piece. History repeats itself.
I will close with this. In the later part of his life, George III had recurrent, and eventually permanent, mental illness. Sic semper tyrannus. The 2020 voters are coming!
